It’s August and in Rutherford County we know that means it’s time to vote for the 2020 Ruthies! The Ruthies are held by the DNJ in Murfreesboro and it’s the community’s way of picking their favorite places in the county for various categories. If you have a product or service, there’s a Ruthie category for it! At Bill Taylor’s Bushido School of Karate we have been honored to have received the Ruthie for Favorite Martial Arts School almost every year for the last 20 years!

Winning the Ruthie from our community means so much to us, it’s a way for us to know we are on track with what the community wants and needs in their local martial arts school. We have been serving Rutherford county since 1972, and as Murfreesboro’s first and largest private martial arts facility it means a lot to have so much support from our community.

The community of Rutherford County is important to us, owner Bill Taylor believes it’s important to give back to our community and he strives to do so in many ways around town. You’ll find us supporting the Special Kids Race, doing our local Susan G. Komen fundraiser each year and many other fundraisers and charity events that happen in Rutherford County. Possibly our favorite way we serve the community is speaking to students at the local schools during our bully buster and stranger danger classes. Teaching kids how to stay safe and how to handle tough situations like dealing with a bully is special to us and it’s a pleasure to have the ability to serve our community this way.

Voting for the 2020 Ruthies will be on the Daily New Journal website and will be open from August 1 – 31st. You can follow this link:

From there scroll down to Retail and “Favorite Martial Arts School” is our category. You can vote once a day all month long. If you have been a student, are a student, a loved one of a student or you’ve had a child participate in one of our bully buster or stranger danger workshops — we would appreciate your vote in the 2020 Ruthies!
